We believe that an effective culling strategy begins both with a strong understanding of the universe of data within a given collection as well as an understanding of the objectives our client’s review team is trying to accomplish. We will work with your legal team to understand the characteristics of the data set including total volume, file and media type and custodial information to help you implement the most appropriate and defensible culling and/or minimization techniques and tools for the specific task. We can also help your team determine the number of files that should be ultimately processed for review by programmatically acquiring statistical information on what types of files are in your collection. Our sophisticated tools can analyze data by file extension as well as the file’s header information to determine the file type, regardless of extension, which helps you avoid paying for unnecessary review of non-custodian created data. Our technical staff can provide a full array of statistical analysis and reporting on any given dataset within any given engagement. We can also create customized reporting based on the specific nature of the request.
